Consul DNS forwarding points at the k8s consul DNS LB (198.18.200.5), which is backed by a single pod until the k8s servers scale. Keep the VM forwarder as a fallback.

  • forward .consul to 198.18.200.5, then 198.18.19.14
  • drop 198.18.19.14 once the VM servers retire

Requires a healthy k8s consul server (argocd-apps #531) first.
